PUBLIC/ SOCIAL/ AFFORDABLE
AAUD has carried out considerable work in these areas over the years. Peter Annand worked on the Woolloomooloo revitalisation and Ultimo/Pyrmont project very early on in his career in association with Sydney Council and Department of Housing. Most urban projects in the last 10 years have incorporated affordable housing components as a central plank of community building. Some specific examples include:
Seven Hills Public Housing Renewal (DoH)
AAUD have designed a mixed-use integrated Transit- Oriented Development which replaces 125 dwellings in the south-east quadrant of Seven Hills with 1,000 plus dwellings comprising replacement social housing,affordable and market housing within a mixed-use, mixed density transit oriented framework (on-hold).
AAUD have masterplanned and carried out extensive yield analysis for this major redevelopment project comprising 1,500 new dwellings in a variety of dwelling types (public, affordable, market) and at quite high densities.(under construction).
AAUD carried out Masterplanning and extensive yield analysis in order to deliver 700 new dwellings (mix of social, affordable and market housing) and community facilities (under construction).
AAUD designed this small project close to the Hurstville rail station on a difficult site. The concept plan explored the possibility of creation of “loft” houses, townhouses and a variety of sustainable features.
AAUD carried out Masterplanning, feasibility and yield analysis oan these lands to establish future policy and strategies regarding future redevelopment.(on hold)
Dacey Gardens (DoH)
AAUD carried out Masterplanning and yield analysis over the Dacey Gardens Estate in the context of the strong heritage framework to inform asset management analysis. (on hold)
AAUD investigated Masterplanning and yield analysis providing a new locala centre and 500 mixed (social, affordable, market) dwellings.
AURA Public aHousing Renewal SA
AAUD reviewed development options (via Enquiry by Design Workshop) for public housing sites in Woodville West, Seaford and Westlakes with a total yield of 500 dwellings.
Peachy Belt SA (LMC, Housing SA)
AAUD carried out extensive Masterplanning, infill design, yield analysis for Housing SA as part of a wider project in Playford North.This included very successful Enquiry by Design Workshops and extensive social engagement.(under construction)
Forest Gladae, Blacktown (Landcom)
AAUD with IDG Architects and Cosmopolitan Constructions (builders) researched, designed, masterplananed and constructed this very early “Affordable Housing” project to demonstrate type of dwellings, capacity for integrated development and to test market acceptance and affordability construction techniques. (An award winner and very successful development )
